Polled EVMs from remote places have reached 17 receiving centers of the state. For the retrieval of Polled EVMs and Personnel, the services of Pawan Hans, Jagson and Indian Air Force helicopters were requisitioned.
The counting of votes would be held from 800 hours on Oct 22. As per the reports, poll percentage has been recorded as 75% so far. However, reports from interior areas are yet to be received.
Six suspended for dereliction of duty
AALO, Oct 15: Six officers have been suspended in West Siang for dereliction of election duty. All the suspended were appointed as Presiding Officers under Likabali Assembly Constituency for conduct of election to the Arunachal Legislative Assembly.
As per the report of SDO/RO Likabali, the officers reported to the Likabali RO office more than eight hours later than scheduled with the polled EVMs. The DEO Amzad Tak while handing out suspension of these officers said that it was a serious violation of Law and Order and that presiding officers have not maintained absolute integrity and devotion to duty.
The officers are Todak Rumi, AE; R. Sora, HDO; Dr. K. Riram, SVO; Jumkar Basar, JE; Lova Gadi, AE and Jumdak Basar, JE.
In the meantime, Gumke Riba of NCP and Yai Mara of AITMC lodged complaint about the missing Presiding Officers with Polled EVMs.

BJP denounces Chinese objection, demands coordination committee
ITANAGAR, Oct 15: The Bharatiya Janata Party, Arunachal Pradesh denounced and condemns the reported Chinese claims over the territory of Arunachal Pradesh in the recent years and objections raised over the visit of the Prime Minister to Arunachal Pradesh which is the integral part of the Republic of India.
Chinese objections over the visit of the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh to Arunachal Pradesh is indigestible to every Arunachalee and the UPA government owes an explanation to the nation as to why should the Centre continue to go soft with the issue of the vexed boundary dispute between the two growing Asian giants and left it to differences of perceptions on both sides, which does not remain with it alone, said state BJP general secretary and spokesman Tai Tagak in a release today.

Democracy’s journey to Mromboo

ANINI, Oct 15: Believe it or not, polling team comprising of 15 officials headed by Presiding Officer, Rinchin Tsetim Khom proved it true that single vote matters! The team traversed 26 hrs through rugged terrains without proper food and sleep to Mromboo, which has just three voters.
The trek was made more difficult due to massive landslides that washed out the porter track,. The trekking from Kronli to Mromboo was almost like going through toughest, commando training, he said.
The team had to clear jungles, climb slippery mountains, cross rivers and rivulets. At one time they had to cross a river which had just two bamboo poles as a bridge! That was not all. The team had to pass through small caves used by wild animals with starved leeches ready to stick to human flesh.
When the team reached Mromboo, they found that Trisso Linggi, a middle aged man alone at the veranda of his traditional hut, who was eagerly waiting for the polling team.
He had came down all the way from Munli to cast his vote, which is located near by the border area of Lower Dibang Valley District. Long back, he and his family members had shifted from Mromboo to Munli because it is easier for them to get all the essential commodities including life saving drugs from nearby Dambuk SDO HQ that takes 2 hours trek to reach.
On the poll Day, Presiding Officer and his team erected a temporary polling booth just on the backside of Voters house and conducted the poll. Mromboo polling stations created a history in Arunachal Assembly poll by recording a single vote proving the point that every vote count! (the contributor is DIPRO in charge)

ITANAGAR: Capital of Arunachal has recorded just about 50% polling. Of the total 57,979 voters enrolled, 29,278 cast their votes. Doimukh and Sagalee constituencies recorded 63.12 and 79.72 percents. In Sagalee constituency out of the 36 Polling stations, in 31 stations, female voters outnumbered male voters.
Meanwhile the last polled EVM to reach Itanagar receiving centre was Habia village, which is about 20 km footmarch from Pakke Kesang in East Kameng, informed DEO Papum Pare Bidol Tayeng.

Social security is the right answer to Chinese threat
Madam,
Chini, chini, chini hamare bhai he! This has been the notion prevailing so far. Today, serious threat is not from the very known enemies of our country but from what, what is going around over the globe and immediate danger is from the underdevelopment prevailing in the state.
Are we all satisfied with the level of development in the state and can anyone confidently tell that the average common Arunachalees are happy with whatever they are getting? What kind of answer do we expect from the commoners who are living under the wilderness of economic insecurities or job insecurities if a survey is conducted to know their living condition? In this particular context, even the threat from our Chini Bhai may come next to the lakhs of poverty ridden and jobless educated unemployed Arunachalees who will be the biggest threat for next succeeding Govts in the state and at the Centre as well.
What we all need today is the performance in the ground level and providing food and job securities to average poorest of poor Arunachalee irrespective of caste and political party lines.
Common and poor people are simply the children of god. They do not belong to any community, political parties or any particular religious groups. Development fund of various natures are for them largely and rest for infrastructural development of the state. I do not think the average Arunachalees get the lion share or due share out of resources meant for them.
Branding the Chinese issue a burning issue and making all acts and counter acts alone
is not going to serve the purpose. The solution lies in bringing all-
Arunachal as a union territory or state has been known to all of us as a strategic border state. If so, what the responsible state and central govt. over the decades or centuries have been doing. Are they all sleeping so many years? Very sorry, as and when our Chini bhai makes serious claim over the state only, the state leaders or the central govt. seem to wake up not before that. Where are the strong infrastructural development and where are the thorough road, communication development, what is the level of economic condition of the average common Arunachalees and how far the state of Arunachal could able to harness the rich natural resources of the state so far. How many corporate bodies or industries and medical colleges, law colleges, etc have come up in the state to employ its people and create state’s sure and independent revenue source of its own.
If the war takes place the worst affected ones will be the common people not the rich and the so called creamy layer as they will be able to easily fly to other metro cities and foreign lands. Where the commoner will go and with what resources they will go to anywhere except surrendering themselves to their own fate and ready to die there itself.
So, I think instead of simply making tall protest or counter claim that Arunachal is an integral part of this great India, the state and Central Govts first get to the community or grass root people for any development work. Let the common people do their own development not through the so called irresponsible self centered representatives alone as they are loosing faith in these leaders slowly. Assess, whether the level of development and overall condition of the people is at par with the total annual fund allocated to the state in every five year plan and all those special financial packages provided to the state so far since its inception.
Be honest to oneself and serve the masses else the mother earth, the very embodiment of the Maha Shakti will not tolerate and spare those who all are responsible for the sorry state of affairs of this land and its people one day.
